About this Sativa Strain

The sativa cannabis strain Cat Piss derives its name from the pungent reek it radiates – smelling like none other than cat piss itself. This strain is a love it or hate it strain, and leaves a spicy pine (but sometimes skunky) aftertaste in the mouth.

Cat Piss’s lineage is somewhat unknown, with only one parent knowns – the hybrid Skunk #1.

The THC levels of Cat Piss average at 12% and can reach heights of 20%. Many describe the high as uplifting, placing the consumer into a contented and often happy mindset. Its effects are completely cerebral, though some have noted a very slight body high that energizes. It will induce hunger, so expect the munchies. This is a good wake and bake strain, perfect for right before breakfast while helping boost energy for the day’s activities.

Some have experienced bouts of dizziness and paranoia after consuming improper amounts of this strain, besides the normal dry mouth and eyes.

Growers will find that this strain grows tall and takes only seven to eight weeks to flower.

Cat urine smell while drying after harvest

I have a plant (mystery seed) that suffered some pretty heavy caterpillar damage during flowering. After removing the buds that were toast and manually picking out pillars, I fed the plant one more time in the hopes the remaining somewhat impacted buds would bounce back. After a few days it was obvious that the plant had plateaued and wasn’t going to get any better.

I harvested the plant yesterday at that point about three days after its last feeding. I gave it a good wet trim and washed each bud in baking soda and lemon juice, heavily diluted peroxide water and two rinses of plain water before hanging up to dry in front of a fan for a few hours. Once the soaked buds dried enough to place in a closet I did so. The plant smelled heavily piney at that point. Within a few hours, however, the plant began reeking of cat piss. Now, one day later (buds hanging in closet with a fan at 45 percent humidity at 70 degrees) the plant absolutely reeks of cat piss.

The buds do have some brown in them from being dried on the plant some due to pillar damage, but I don’t see anything that looks like mold. Is this caused by the ammonium nitrate from the fertilizers not being leached out because I didn’t flush properly? If so, will it go away? How likely is this to be mold? What is the best way that I can tell? I see nothing that looks like mold images on cannabis online. That said, I do get lightheaded for some time after spending time in the room, but I’m not sure that matters to these questions. Thank you for your help!
