Vector lifetime torch
I purchased a larger model Vector torch about 9 months ago. I purchased it for a few reasons.
First, It has a massive flame. More than hot enough to fire a glass vaporizer.
Second, I have gone through like a torch a year for the last 5 years. They just seem to stop working one day. The Vector torch has a lifetime, no receipt warranty!
The Vector has not been an exception. When I went to use it last night, I found that the spark wont light it anymore.
So now its time to test out there lifetime no receipt warranty.
Anyone had a Vector they returned?
Update: Just read their “Warranty” policy. So they do repair work. You have to send in your torch. Now here is the rub, they want you to send them $12 to ship it back. It will already cost $4-5 to send it to them. I already paid like $60 for it. So that will be around $75 into this torch. I think thats too much.
I have an odd philosophy on torches/butane. I buy cheap butane and relatively cheap torches. You see, the torch does wear out, it will break. Premium butane is required to extend the life.
Furthermore, I’ve modeled out the extra expense per year in premium butane, and have determined it is cheaper to use significantly less expensive butane and risk premature torch death, than to buy premium butane over the expected life of the torch.
@ EconMan I would agree for a dab torch. My challenge is i need a really hot torch to fire up my glass vaporizer.
This torch says it gets up to 2600 degrees. Yesterday I picked up 2 torches that are rated to 2400 degrees. One was $20 and one was $30. No comparison to the Vector!! Teeny flame, I dont see how they are only 200 degrees less.
Funny that the only mention I could find about this Vector torch was on the Elev8er discussion.
Anyone know of a good quality, inexpensive huge torch? I already have a plumbers propane torch.
Just one of my many torches but it is very hot and going on a year and half of use.
No child latch on the one I have. You just turn a knob and push the igniter very similar to a torch for plumbing work. Most of my fancier torches have stopped working but this one keeps going. I also use it for lighting wood stoves.I purchased a larger model Vector torch about 9 months ago. I purchased it for a few reasons. First, It has a massive flame.
